My Slimming World Progress | Week 23



This week was a bit of a mix. I had my gain from last week to get rid of, which I did (just!) so towards the end of the week I was really focused. I had salad for lunch, fruit for breakfast, and a slimming world recipe for dinner. I have resolved to carry on in the same way this week because I need to make up for lost time. My total weightloss for Feb is only 4lbs - 1lb a week! That's not enough to keep me on track for my target. I need, at least, 2 lbs loss a week. So now I need to aim for 3lbs for a while to counter my poor weightloss in Feb!

Weight loss this week: 2lbs
Target for next week: 3lbs

Syn Free Ketchup Alternative


If like me you are slightly addicted to ketchup, it can be an easy way to add syns to your day without even thinking about it. Lately I have been trying to cut down on these little things that add up to a lot of syns so have come up with my own alternative to ketchup. I like mine quite chunky, but you could easily blend this to make it into a more ketchup-like consistency.

Ingredients:

1 can of chopped tomatoes
Pinch of chilli flakes
Pinch of dried basil
1/2 tsp of chopped garlic
1 red pepper

Method:

1. Chop up your pepper, add to a saucepan with the chopped tomatoes and bring to the boil.
2. Leave the pepper and tomatoes to simmer for a few minutes until the peppers begin to soften.
3. Add the seasoning - salt, pepper, chilli flakes, basil and garlic.
4. Let it simmer away for another five minutes or so.
5. Either blend it up to make it into a more sauce consistency or enjoy chunky...either way it's delicious and syn free!

My Slimming World Progress | Week 22


Well, this was officially my worst week at Slimming World yet! I put on 2lbs this week. It's not surprising at all...I had a divine hot chocolate at Angelina, countless rounds of burgers and chips (why is it so hard to find healthy [and not ridiculously overpriced] food whilst travelling? Petrol stations, airports, train stations....you need to do better!) Of course, it's nobody's fault but my own and I am glad that I am able to look back on this week knowing why I have gained weight. I am also able to daydream about how delicious that hot chocolate was....

Next week I am aiming to lose: 3.5lbs (minimum!)

Paris | February 2017






















It was freezing. However, this provided the perfect enjoy an Angelina 'Afrique' Hot Chocolate. I realised that I have forgotten 99.9% of my school French -- but that I really want to learn it again. I'd love to be able to listen in on conversations at the boulangerie or salon de the! We were only there for 24 hours really (once you factor in travelling time) so it has left me wishing I was still there...and planning a return trip to France ASAP!
